Comcast Takes over a month (as of now) to Return Overcharged Bill

I had forgotten I had set up automatic bill pay, and I paid my bill at the local office. Well, 2 days after I paid it my automatic bill pay went through for $259. I called Comcast that day- Saturday morning asking for a refund and was told Comcast would call me within 72 hours. I called again Tuesday and was given the runaround again- told my status was "escalated" and would be called in the next couple of days. I then went to the local office on Friday after not hearing anything from Comcast and was told I couldn't be refunded. But she took my credit card information and put it in the computer and told me she'd call me with an update.
This is ridiculous. They're quick to take money from you but not give it back. And it's not even that- it's the fact they haven't called me when they said they would and keep me updated. They're a ripoff. Maybe Dish is better.

What should have Comcast done instead?

Well, obviously refunding me would be great. But more than that- just calling me like they said they would and not dragging their feet. It can't be that hard to refund the money- they can take it from me in an instant.
